| General Artwork Requirements: To provide the best
results we require your artwork to be camera ready, color separated
and to size. It must be clean, black and white art with sharp clean
lines. Photocopies, fax copies, business cards and ads are usually
not clear enough to be considered camera ready art.
Silk Sreening: The process of applying ink to a
screen which has the non-printing areas blocked by a stencil. Printing
is done by applying ink to the screen, spreading and forcing it through
the fine mesh openings. Each color requires it's own screen.
Close registration must be furnished to quote.
Line Screen: Line Screens refer to the number of
lines per inch in a halftone image. The lower the number, the larger
and more widely spaced the dots. Higher numbers allow reproduction
of fine detail. For Silk Screening purposes, 65 - 85 line screens
are required.
Halftones/Screen Tints, Graduated Tints: Halftones
and screen tints are areas of color created by dots instead of solid
ink coverage. Graduated screen tints are areas of color that gradually
change their density from light to dark. Graduated screen tints below
10% will not print. Tints of more than 90% will print solid. Please
keep screen tints between 80% and 20 %.
Traps: Traps are the overlaying of two colors,
one color bleeding over the other, to prevent gaps in close registration
artwork. If traps are necessary please
include them in your artwork.
Bleeds: An imprint is considered to bleed when
the image runs to the edge of the binder. We require an extra ¼" of
your image in order to bleed on artwork.
Debossing: Dies made from artwork are stamped into
material pressing the surface down. The dies vary in size depending
on the overall size of the art. Die costs
are not included in debossing charges as they vary depending on size.
Foil Stamping: Using a die, foil can be stamped
onto material to create a detailed imprint. Dies are not included
in stamping prices as they vary with size.
Deboss / Stamp To Register: Combines debossing
and foil stamping to place foil in the debossed area. Again, dies
not included in price.
Please Note! - Any changes to artwork such as typesetting, enlargements,
reductions, repositioning, half tones and traps may incur additional art charges.
Art charges will be billed at $25.00 per hour, one hour minimum.
